Welcome to Children's Global Health Alliance! CGHA is a young, vibrant non-profit organization founded and run by young professionals looking to make a global impact by improving the health of children in developing countries. We hope to achieve this goal through a multi-faceted plan including acute care, preventative measures, and the dissemination of information.  Find out more about our organization in our "About CGHA" page.

Why Address Children's Health?

Most people know that children's health is a problem in underdeveloped countries, but many people are unaware of the severity and maldistribution of healthcare to these children.  Consider the following:
  • 3 million children die every year within a month of birth, and the majority of these deaths can be prevented with proper treatment. 
  • Approximately 15-20 million children die of hunger annually.
  • The Indian subcontinent alone has nearly 50% of the world's hungry people, followed by Africa, the remainder of Asia, and Latin America. 
  • According to the World Health Organization (WHO), infectious diseases are the world's biggest killer of children and young adults
  • Infectious diseases account for more than 13 million deaths per year, or just under 1,500 people per hour.  More than 50% of these deaths occur in children under five years of age

CGHA Mission Statement

CGHA is dedicated to improving the health of children across the world by creating healthcare facilities, recruiting healthcare professionals, educating families, and promoting general awareness about sanitation, proper nutrition, immunization and other health issues pertaining to children.
